AMATEUR RADIO TECHNICIAN LICENSE CLASS MARCH 25-26, 2023
The Denton County Amateur Radio Association, DCARA, will host an Amateur Radio
Technician License Class on March 25-26, 2023. This class along with study materials
will prepare you to take your exam on the final day of the class.
The cost is $25.00 payable to the club’s PayPal account. This fee includes your license
exam fee and a box lunch on Saturday.
Upon passing the exam you will be given free a one-year $20.00 membership to
DCARA.
Registration & Payment: Go to the DCARA website www.dcara.net and pay the $25
class fee by going to the “Membership” page, click “Misc Payment” and put “Tech
Class” in the reason for payment.

Sunday March 26, 2023 9:00 am to 3:00 pm followed by the VE exam session at 3:00 pm

The class includes both days, Saturday and Sunday with the test on Sunday.
You are not expected to go through the whole book prior to the class, but it helps if you do some
studying ahead of time.
Many get a head start on the course content using many available resources.
The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual 5th edition is a more in-depth study option available at arrl.org
There are several online options.
The ARRL.org site has a lot of information and links.
An online search for Ham Radio Test will direct you to several free practice test sites that
are great practice for the pool of test questions actually used on the test.

You may also find phone apps that will drill you on the test questions.
There are many YouTube videos covering the ham radio/amateur radio technician license
