What is it about?
To gain more privileges on HF, that person(s) needs to be licensed and know the rules to operate legally. US licenses are good for 10 years before renewal and anyone may hold one except a representative of a foreign government. In the US there are three license classes—Technician, General and Extra. The world of HF Amateur Radio is vast, and it starts with a 35 question FCC licensing test to upgrade that person(s) privileges. There are many places to get study material or even take practice tests. The General License Ham Radio class is part of an ongoing series structured to get you to pass the test to upgrade from Technician to General license level with FCC. After you pass the test there will be encouragement from CARBBN and Colorado Ready to learn more. The class is led and taught by ARRL register instructor(s) from CARBBN.
